Opening the Depalindo Congress, Ministry of Trade Encourages Synergy to Increase Export Competitiveness
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) is encouraging stronger cross-sector collaboration to boost national export competitiveness amid increasingly complex global economic dynamics. One of the ways it is doing this is by inviting the Indonesian Freight Forwarders Association (Depalindo) to play an active role in reducing logistics costs.
This call was made by the Director General of National Export Development (Dirjen PEN) at Kemendag, Fajarini Puntodewi, during the opening of the 12th Depalindo National Congress in Jakarta on Thursday (September 25, 2025).
Fajarini, representing Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, emphasized the strategic role of Depalindo in creating an efficient and adaptive logistics system.
“The government continues to encourage cross-sector collaboration to increase national export competitiveness,” she said.
According to her, efficiency is key to facing global challenges, including the impact of protectionist policies such as “Trump's tariffs.”
“Strategic adjustments are needed to ensure that Indonesia's exports continue to grow and remain competitive,” said Fajarini.
He emphasized that if logistics connectivity is achieved, the export market will expand and MSMEs will find it easier to penetrate international markets.
“The government is committed to promoting national logistics transformation to increase exports and enable MSMEs to go global,” he said. (*)
