Hendrik Sitompul Proposes Strategic Measures to the Minister of Trade for Smooth Logistics and Flow of Goods

Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Transport Service Users Council (Depalindo), Hendrik H Sitompul MM, submitted a number of strategic proposals to Minister of Trade Budi Santoso to facilitate the flow of goods and national logistics, both for export and domestic purposes.
The proposals were conveyed during a hearing between the National Leadership Council (DPN) of Depalindo and the Minister of Trade at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/4/2025). During the meeting, the Minister of Trade was accompanied by Director General of Domestic Trade Iqbal Shoffan Sofwan, Director of Trade and Logistics Facilities Sri Sugy Atmanto, and Secretary of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade Abu Amar.

Hendrik led the meeting, which was also attended by Depalindo Deputy Secretary General Mikhael Ardianto and General Treasurer Jeremia Dewanto. Although Depalindo Chairman Toto Dirgantoro was unable to attend, he expressed his deep appreciation for the positive response from the Minister of Trade and his staff to the input from the business world.

“This meeting was very constructive. We appreciate Minister Busan's openness in accommodating the aspirations of business actors,” said Hendrik.
Hendrik added that the meeting also discussed strategic issues such as congestion at Tanjung Priok Port, the existence of empty container depots, and export cost efficiency.
Depalindo encourages export policies to focus not only on volume, but also on improving national logistics competitiveness.

Minister of Trade Budi Santoso welcomed Depalindo's input and affirmed the Ministry of Trade's commitment to strengthening a healthy, efficient, and competitive business climate. He hopes that Depalindo will continue to play its role in safeguarding the interests of business actors amid the dynamics of global trade. (**)
